Aight, so, started out this month super strong, with a ski trip (I was invited to go skiing with local rotarians, who covered the costs of my rental), and let me say, it was a blast. Slow start, but I hit the slopes around noon, and by the time the place shut dow around four, I was able to successfully navigate the intermediate course down the mountain, so, not bad for my first time ever, I think. Then after that, onsen! of course there was an onsen. The outdoor bath was pretty cool. There's something magical about sitting in a hot tub as snow is falling around (and on) you. The magic is mitigated slightly by the fact that it was snowing (coupled with the fact that I was naked. does not mesh too too well with snow, let me say), but it was still pretty cool. Heck, they even bought me ice cream (please disregard my pseudocomplaint about the cold just now).
After that, on the 7th, there was a kendo tournament! I honestly thought I was going to play, but, I was an alternate, and everyone showed up (some of the members hadn't showed up to practice in quite some time, so it's not unreasonable to think that I was going to play). So, I watched, and still had fun.
Valentine's Day was a saturday here, So the friday before and following monday passed in a blur of girls giving each other sweets (I think it's traditionally typical for them to give sweets to boys, but that was incredibly uncommon, at least from what I observed at Yutaka-my highschool).
And thats pretty much it! should be up to date now on all the big things, and I'll try to keep you posted on the smaller things every now and then.
Oh! Speaking of! My weight has been hovering around the 82-83kg mark (I was just under 100 when I got here, though I also got pretty fat over the summer, so this may just be slightly below normal. maybe, I didn't really pay attention to my weight before), which, while not necessarily a number to be proud of, is a significant improvement. One might even say that it's dope. Not, you know, the dopest, but, I can see my ribs and my jawline, which is really nice, guys. Just, so nice.
Anyway, bedtime for me. I'm out!
