Wohoo! So, the plane ride was pretty much smooth sailing, though it was quite boring (as 12+ hours in a middle seat is wont to be), and I met my family and rotary club just past customs! After that, We drove from Nagoya to Toyohashi (where I live now), and I essentially crashed, after some curry and some sort of rice cake. Today (8/25-my first full day) was nice and busy. First, Aki (my host father) and I updated my address at the city hall, and went to open a bank account for me (interesting side note-it seems that a stamp/signet is much more common than a signature here, so I got one of those). After that we went and dropped of my little host brother, Kisuke, at some kind of camp (which was in a very old school building at the foot of what was considered a holy mountain at one point-Way cool, I took lots of pictures, hopefully I'll put them on Facebook soon). Then we went shopping for a school uniform (at 5'11" and ~220 lbs, I'm a monster here!), and now we're setting up for dinner. Overall, the day was great, though the city is very humid and hot! I'm living with some great people, and hopefully my language skills will start to see some improvement. So, uhh,
